Before you apply

Below is a list of information and documentation you will need to have in order to prepare your wage support application:

• Size of your workforce:Calculate total number of employees in your workforce when it was its highest between April 1, 2025, to March 31, 2026. Staff turnover in the same role is counted as 1 employee.
• CRA Payroll Account:Your CRA Payroll Account is formatted as follows – Business Number + RP + 0001 (e.g., 123456789RP0001).
  • ➤ You will need to provide a supporting document showing you have an active payroll account. Acceptable documents that verify your active payroll account are as follows (provide one of the following):
    • CRA statement of account for current source deductions (most recent tax year)
    • Transaction record showing a payment to your CRA Payroll Account from your banking institution (most recent transaction)
    • Excerpt from your company’s T4 (most recent tax year)
  • ➤ Supporting document must show your Company Name, CRA Payroll Account number, and Date.
• Contact Person:Please assign a contact person for your application. Information about your application and its contents will be shared with your contact person. All communications from the Newfoundland & Labrador Wage Support program, including application status, questions about your application, results of verification of your application (including standing with WorkplaceNL and Department of Labour) will be delivered to your contact person via email from info@nlwagesupport.ca.
• Banking Information:Have your banking information ready, including:
  • Transit (Branch) Number: 5 digits identifying specific branch
  • Institution Number: 3 digits identifying the bank
  • Account Number: 7 to 12 digits
  • Void Cheque: PDF or image file (JPG, PNG, etc.)
  • ➤ Banking details must match application details.
